MTV
Despite my lack of interest in reality t.v, I sat down and watched 'J.Wow and Snooki', '16 and pregnant' and 'Parental control'. The feelings that I get from these shows is a combination of being annoyed but at the same time entertained. The Shows themselves are very superficial and self centered, giving an ideal image of what beauty is. They give a warped impression of what the youth of today seem to focus on, and apparently it's only being in a relationship. Surprisingly, 'J.Woww and Snooki' was the most toned down of the show. The two characters have already been established from their previous show 'Jersey Shore'. '16 and pregnant' reaches out to a younger teen audience, showing the lives of teenaged girls who end up pregnant and the difficulties they go through throughout the pregnancy, however, this is glamorized a bit. Their transitions from scene to scene are through a black outline silhouette of the next scene on looseleaf paper, as if in school. Parental control isn't as bad as the others, just gives a sense of lack of respect towards adults (when the significant of the child is rude their parents) and also the communication parents have their children.
